It's 2012! I didn't get to kiss my honey at midnight unfortunately, but I brought my new year in with good company at work. My new year day was very long, but a lot of fun! I got off work, went to the grocery store and bought lots of food for my company and went home to a clean house all thanks to my wonderful fiance. I only had to run the vacuum which really didn't NEED to be done, but I'm weird like that. And I started cooking my black eyed peas for good luck! We had my brother Josh and his new girlfriend Lindsey over, my best friend and MOH Alysha and her bf David, my future father in law and his gf Vickie and my future brother-in law Chris and his wife Samantha, over at http://betterblondesam.blogspot.com/
We had a country boil, black eyed peas and rice, fresh green beans, cole slaw, cornbread and salad for dinner. Which all turned out good thankfully! And I tried craw fish for the first time, which was okay, but not all I anticipated...I have this weird fascination with Louisiana and all things Cajun/Creole, etc...and am completely in love with the culture from there. I mean seriously, have you ever heard Troy Landry from Swamp people talk? "Laissez les bon temps roulez!!!"
We had a great time and I'm so thankful to God for all my family and friends and am praying for a wonderfully blessed and successful new year!
Just this month I'm really starting to feel wedding pressure...I mean my schedule every weekend this month is busy!! Tomorrow we are going to pick the tuxes and get David sized and look for my wedding band and get our fingers sized so I can order Davids band.
Then this next weekend is my bridal shower back home in Titusville, then Sunday I go get my dress altered if need be :-/ then Monday I go to get my hair and makeup trial...then work 3 days. Then Saturday the 14 hopefully I'll be planning my "bachelorette" shower for Savannah and Tybee Island with my ladies and cooking out....then work again for 3 days, then our second meeting with our pastor, then to work on my centerpieces at our friend Sissy's house, who by the way makes beautiful bouquets, arrangements, etc. She is fantastic!!!! Then work again for like 4 days I think, then I end the month with my Momma finally coming to visit! And honestly that's not all, there's so many more little things I have to do including getting all these Christmas decorations put away!!!
Honestly, I couldn't be happier right now either. I'm enjoying today and my opportunity to take it easy...and am so grateful we got a lawn mower from my PopPop for Christmas because I forgot our front yard looks like this and the grass will be growing again pretty soon....
